This project focused on developing closer community connections and a pool of volunteers who lead to facilitate a series of network activities and events aimed at addressing health inequality and improving health outcomes in Caribbean & African within Greater Manchester. The project was funded by the National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All grant.
The work focused upon 5 health streams of work and workers for each stream undertook face to face engagement and consultation with the community and also through social media platforms with people of Caribbean & African descent.
This project brought together Caribbean & African led organisations in Greater Manchester, to work more in partnership, and to effectively engage statutory providers in responding to the challenging health inequalities. Our current membership includes over 450 individuals, faith and community organisations that are keen to promote healthy lifestyles, work with health providers in making services culturally appropriate.
