ENFIELD

It is with real pleasure that CAHN (The Caribbean and African Health Network), is now working on a collaborative project with Enfield Council.

Our collaboration with the London Borough of Enfield, North London, started in June 2021.

With its population estimated at 333,794, Enfield is a rich and vibrant multicultural borough in London. Its main towns are Edmonton, Enfield, Palmers Green and Southgate

Several projects are currently taking place and we are very involved in bringing the African/Caribbean Community to work very closely with local statutory organisations.

The following London boroughs share the same border with Enfield:

CAHN’S WORK IN ENFIELD

As part of our commitment to the African and Caribbean community in Enfield, and in view of the current COVID-19 context, we endeavour to:

  • Build partnerships across various sectors in Enfield and to be the point of contact between communities, voluntary sector members and commissioning agencies.
  • Provide accurate information about COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Use local vaccination data for Enfield to inform targeted engagement.
  • Dispel misinformation and challenge disinformation about the vaccines through webinar, helpline and face-to-face engagement
  • Provide opportunities for community members’ questions to be appropriately answered by medical professionals via webinars and helpline
  • Engage in continuous consultation, planning and evaluation to provide solutions to persistent health inequalities and act as a direct point of contact with commissioners.
  • Champion the work of the Caribbean and African community and to promote its assets, efficiencies and achievements.

From the inception of the initial project, we had various engagements activities with local community and faith leaders. Our high impact promotion on various social media platforms and local radios had and still has a positive impact on the community. The Enfield African and Caribbean community has been very receptive to this engagement.

We look forward to sharing further update as we increase our engagement activities.
