Salford Black Leaders

Salford Black Leaders Network

CAHN is working with Salford CVS as part of their Covid-19 recovery fund. We are working with Black-led organisations so that collectively we can complement each other and work together cohesively.

Our purpose is also to facilitate inclusion and collaborative work between VCSE communities and various statutory organisations.

The network of leaders comprises over 15 leaders individually reaching out to at least 40 people within their various communities. The group meets fortnightly and share ideas on a better collaborative work, as well as raising theirs concerns within the City of Salford.

With the support of Salford CVS, funding and food provision have been made available to group members.

This forum has also allowed members to voice their views on the Salford Equality Strategy being formulated – how do they want to influence this strategy? What is everyone’s role, mostly what role do they think they can play as part of this change? There is strength in numbers and working together will remove some significant hassle.

CAHN seeks to find out what are the immediate challenges of the Black community in Salford and have conversations to resolve those issues.

Various funding information have been made available to support those who have been impacted by the pandemic.
